In the Burren there exists many beautiful sites that are difficult to find, due to poor of nil signage and its twisty routes. Whilst this adds to the charm it also creates frustration for many visitors. They come to escape to Ireland’s most haunting landscape. To address this need this audio consists of nine separate audio files. They match accompany the itineraries from Jackie’s book The Burren Trails.
How long do the trails take?
Each of the nine itineraries takes around half a day to complete. It takes longer if you want to go slow and savour places en route.They include GPS readings, specific directions, short history and legends on the sites, and some humour. It has proven a very useful tool for cyclists, motor cyclists and lone drivers. Also for those who hope their partners were not their back seat drivers!
Advance apologies for any mispronounced Gaelic names that indicate more fully the meaning of particular sites.
